To discover the Cantal is a fantastic experience and an opportunity to find “la vie Francaise” and this is the “real
France”. To give a small taste of our area, within 50 kms of our home we have the high mountains of the Auvergne,
with first class skiing in the winter, walking and hiking, paragliding and cycling, as well as white water kayaking
through the wild river gorges, the famous historic medieval towns of Salers (Cantal), Conques (Averyon),
Rocamadour and Figeac (Lot), sailing, fishing, swimming and jet ski-ing are available throughout Cantal on the local
lakes. Add horse riding, go-karting and a par 73 golf course on our doorstep and we hope this gives you a taste of
the region and some idea of why we love this area. We experience real seasons here, long hot sunny summers, but
rarely too hot, and with a warm and lengthy spring and autumn. Winters are usually often short although in the
mountains, longer, and at Super Lioran there is usually good snow for skiing. The sun can still have warmth in the
Cantal even in mid-winter sometimes up to 20+°. The towns throughout the Cantal and in particular the city of
Aurillac, which is the regional capital and has a very attractive medieval quarter, are surprisingly buoyant and lively.
Businesses in Aurillac and the vicinity and throughout the Cantal are clearly very active. Aurillac holds a variety of
Festivals and concerts throughout the year, in particular is known worldwide for the grand Festival held in the third
week of August each year consisting of fantastic street entertainment and spectalular shows. There are regular busy
markets held in the local towns each week.

ABOUT US
We live in the south west corner of Cantal, close to the departments of the Aveyron, Correze and the Lot (all less
than 30 kms). We settled here having spent a good 18 months looking for a suitable location in which we would be
happy to live.
We both have a love of France and the lifestyle here and we decided we wanted to live in France but needed to
earn a living so purchased a property to enable us to do so, a complete change for us, because in England Helen
was a Family Lawyer and Mike was an Accountant and we purchased an old run-down Auberge sitting in grounds of
1 acre bordered by a river and decided to renovate it and change the business to self-catering holiday properties
(gîtes) and bed and breakfast with the emphasis on Gîtes, which after just 4 years we have now achieved. The
success of our business was unprecedented but with the renovations and transition completed we found ourselves
with spare time so Mike decided to qualify to Teach English as a Foreign Language and I decided to join the Leggett
team which fits in extremely well with our business, Mike decided he enjoyed the Estate Agency as well so he has
also now joined the Leggett team.

réel France". Pour donner un petit goût de notre secteur, dans 50 km de notre maison nous avons les hautes
montagnes de l'Auvergne, avec le ski de première classe dans l'hiver, marchant et aller à pied, paragliding et va à
vélo, de même que kayaking d'eau blanc par les gorges de rivière sauvages, les villes médiévales, historiques et
célèbres de Salers (Cantal), Conques (Averyon), Rocamadour et Figeac (le Lot), la voile, la pêche, nageant est
disponible à travers Cantal sur Les lacs locaux. Ajouter prendre de cheval, le karting et un parcours de golf par 73
sur notre seuil et nous espérons que ceci vous donne un goût de la région et quelque idée de pourquoi nous aimons
ce secteur. Nous éprouvons de vraies saisons ici, les étés ensoleillés, chauds et longs, mais rarement trop chaud, et
avec un printemps et l'automne chaud et interminable. Les hivers sont d'ordinaire souvent courts bien que dans les
montagnes, plus longues, et au Super Lioran il y a de d'ordinaire bonne neige pour le ski. Le soleil peut avoir toujours
la chaleur dans le Cantal même dans le milieu de l'hiver quelquefois en haut à 20°+. Les villes à travers le Cantal et
en particulier la ville d'Aurillac, qui est la capitale régionale et a un quart médiéval très attrayant, sont étonnamment
flottable et vif. Les entreprises dans Aurillac et le voisinage et à travers le Cantal sont clairement très actif. Aurillac
tient un assortiment de Festivals et les concerts, en particulier est tout su au long de l'année dans le monde entier
pour le grandiose Festival a tenu dans la troisième semaine d'août que chaque an consiste en le spectacle de rue
fantastiques et les spectacles de spectalular. Il y a des marchés occupés réguliers tenus dans les villes locales
chaque semaine.

NOUS

Nous habitons en le coin d'ouest du sud de Cantal, près des départements de l'Aveyron, Correze et le Lot (tous
moins que 30 km). Nous avons réglé ici ayant dépensé un bon 18 mois cherche un emplacement convenable dans
lequel nous serions heureux de vivre.
Nous avons un amour de France et le mode de vie ici et nous avons décidé nous avons voulu habiter en France mais
a eu besoin de gagner la vie si a acheté une propriété pour nous rendre capable faire alors, un changement complet
pour nous, parce qu'en Angleterre Helen était un Avocat de Famille et Michael était Comptable et nous avons acheté
un ancien Auberge sur terrain de demi-hectare au bord d'une rivière et a décidé de le restaurer et change les affaires
au Gîtes et Chambres d'Hôtes, maintenant après 4 ans avec l'accent sur Gîtes, que nous avons atteint maintenant.
Le succès de nos affaires était sans précédent mais maintenant les restaurations sont finies nous nous trouvons avec
de loisirs et Michael a décidé de qualifier pour enseigner l'anglais pour les etrangers et Helen a décidé de joindre
l'équipe de Leggett Immobilier qui correspond à extrêmement bien avec nos affaires, Mike a décidé il a apprécié
l'Agence Immobilier et s'il a aussi maintenant an Agent Commercial.
